Within the work package 3, the TRUST consortium turned the introduction of an innovative Finnish program into 13 pilot PROGRAMS within various settings and different target groups, implemented in 5 European Union member countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Romania. In order to learn from as many types of practice as possible, we developed and organised from January 2024 until June 2024, programs with different target groups amongst marginalised youth in various settings:
● Vulnerable youth, subject to community based social services: 3 + groups
● Youth on probation: 1 group
● Youth in prison: 4 groups
● Unaccompanied migrant minors: 1 group
● LGBTQ+ community: 1 group
● Other youth from community Centers and high schools: 3 groups
12 of these groups reported successful completion, reaching approximately 119 young people (between 14-32 years old) and more than 18 activity leaders involved.
In addition to these, the University of Ioannina’s team provided training seminars to 28 professionals at the Social Welfare Center of Epirus in Greece, working with youth with traumatic backgrounds. The professionals in their turn piloted the TRUST program with the youth housed in three residential units of the Center, which at the time of the implementation were around 40 children (10-18 years old).
In summary, a total of approx 46 professionals and 159 young people, who offered insight about the applicability of the program in their context.
